Security & your files
Security starts with understanding where information goes. Here is how My Easy Converter processes documents, protects account access, and stores saved results.
File processing stays in your browser
Published tools read the file you choose and run the conversion on your device. The account service does not receive the file contents. Conversion software and fonts may be downloaded over the network; those requests do not include your document. Keep the tab open until processing finishes.
Account access and sessions
The account service stores your name, email address, a unique salted scrypt password hash, and session records. It does not store your plain-text password. An HTTP-only, SameSite session cookie identifies your session for up to seven days; logging out invalidates that session. The service also limits repeated sign-in attempts and checks the origin of account requests.
Saved history is local storage
While signed in, completed files are saved in this browser’s database under your account. This supports downloading and reuse without a file-storage server. These copies are not separately encrypted by My Easy Converter, and the login interface is not a security boundary against someone who can inspect your browser profile or device.
Use care on shared devices
Download the results you need, delete local saved copies, and sign out when you finish. Signing out alone does not erase history. Protect the device and browser profile with your operating system’s access controls. Avoid saving sensitive documents in a shared browser profile.
Keep a copy that you control
Browser storage can be cleared by you, removed with a profile, or reclaimed by the browser. Local history is not a backup service. Download important files to a location you control and check that they open correctly.
Understand what the tools provide
File conversion is not a malware scan, a security certification, or a guarantee that a document is safe to share. Review output before using it, keep your browser current, and follow your organization’s policies for confidential information.
